Lookup Coleman County Inmate Records

Coleman County inmate records start with the county jail roster maintained for local custody. A Coleman County jail roster search can confirm whether a person is held after arrest, booked on a warrant, or listed on a local charge before court action. The roster is only one part of the search path. State prison, federal prison, immigration custody, and custody notifications use separate systems. To look up Coleman County inmates online, begin with the local roster, then use the state and federal channels when the person is not in county jail custody.

Coleman County Jail Roster

The official local custody source is the NetData Coleman County inmate listing. The Coleman County Sheriff's Office links it from the sheriff page as the Online Inmate Custody List, and the county menu labels the same tool as the CCLEC Jail Inmate Custody List. CCLEC refers to the Coleman County Law Enforcement Center, the county's only official jail facility for this project.

The roster is a free, no-login report form. It is not a full profile database. The public output inspected for Coleman County showed current custody rows with name, arrest number, book date, dorm, and a short charge label. It did not show a mugshot, bond amount, date of birth, court date, release date, arresting agency, warrant number, or a full profile page. That difference matters because a Coleman County inmate record from NetData can confirm custody but may not answer every bond, charge, or court question.

Coleman County's local roster covers people held at the Coleman County Law Enforcement Center. It does not cover a sentenced person after transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, a federal prisoner in Bureau of Prisons custody, or an immigration detainee in ICE custody. No local state prison, BOP facility, ICE detention center, regional jail, work-release center, or city jail was found in Coleman County. When a person is not on NetData, the next lookup step depends on the custody type.

Use Coleman County NetData

The Coleman County NetData page has two public search inputs. Both can be left blank for the widest current listing. A blank search returned paginated public rows during research, so a first screen of results should not be treated as the full jail count unless all pages are reviewed. For a recent arrest that does not show, call the Law Enforcement Center because the roster page does not publish a refresh rate.

  1. Open the sheriff's Online Inmate Custody List link or go directly to the NetData roster.
  2. Leave Beginning Date blank to include all listed booking dates, or choose a beginning date to start the report from that point.
  3. Leave Starting Inmate Name blank for all names, or enter a name to move the alphabetical report near that person.
  4. Click the Inmate Listing button and read the returned row for the person's name, arrest number, book date, dorm, and charge.
  5. If the charge abbreviation, bond status, release status, or court date is unclear, call 325-625-3506 or make a written public information request to the sheriff.

The name field is labeled Starting Inmate Name, not Last Name. Treat it as a report-position field rather than a guaranteed exact-name search. Misspellings, compound surnames, middle names, and initials can affect what appears. When the result row is found, write down the arrest number and book date before calling or requesting more detail.

Coleman County Roster Fields

The public Coleman County roster form is narrow. That can help when the goal is a fast custody check, but it also means many common jail details are not searchable online. The hidden system fields identify the Coleman County NetData library and county code, while the visible fields control the report date range and name position.

Coleman County Inmate Record

Coleman County's public output is best read as a custody-list entry. It can show that a person is in the jail, when the booking was entered, and the short charge text used by the jail report. It is not the same as a court file, prosecutor charging document, or complete booking packet. For court filings after a booking, the clerk and court channels control the official case record.

FieldWhat It Shows
Report DateDate the NetData list was generated, such as 06/29/2026.
Client NameColeman County Sheriff as the reporting agency.
Inmate NameName in last-name, first-name, middle-name format.
Arrest NumberLocal number tied to the arrest or booking event. Keep it for records requests.
Book DateDate the person was booked into Coleman County custody.
DormNumeric dorm or housing value. No public dorm legend was located.
ChargeShort, often abbreviated arrest or booking charge text.
Not ShownNo mugshot, bond, DOB, court date, full charge statute, or profile link appeared in inspected output.

Charge text on the roster can be compressed. Research examples included controlled-substance abbreviations, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, sexual assault, murder, blue-warrant language, and another-county language. A charge on the jail roster is an intake label. The filed charge can change after review by the prosecutor, and the court record controls case status.

Coleman County Records Requests

When the online Coleman County inmate record is too thin, the local fallback is the Law Enforcement Center. Call 325-625-3506 for current custody questions, recent bookings, visitation scheduling, and basic routing. For copies of booking records, jail records, or a booking photo not visible online, use a written public information request to the Coleman County Sheriff's Office or Law Enforcement Center under Texas Government Code Chapter 552.

A useful request names the person, gives the book date, includes the arrest number if known, and states the specific record sought. Examples include the booking record, basic arrest information, booking photograph, or jail custody record. Texas law allows agencies to withhold or redact some active law enforcement, juvenile, medical, or confidential material, so a request should be precise rather than broad.

Coleman County Booking Records

A person arrested in Coleman County is normally taken to the Coleman County Law Enforcement Center. Jail staff create or update the booking record, assign an arrest number, record the book date, enter the charge label, and place the person in a dorm or housing area. Those are the fields that appear in the Coleman County NetData output. Booking can also include search and property inventory, fingerprinting, identification, a booking photograph, medical or mental health screening, classification, and initial phone access, but those details were not published as public roster fields.

Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 15.17 requires an arrested person to be taken before a magistrate without unnecessary delay for warnings and bail issues. Texas Chapter 17 governs bail. Because Coleman County NetData did not show bond amounts or bond types in inspected output, the jail phone line or court record is the better source for release terms.

Booking
Jail intake that creates the arrest number, book date, charge entry, and custody placement.
Dorm
The Coleman roster's numeric housing field. The county does not publish a public dorm key.
Detainer
A hold from another agency, such as parole, another county, federal custody, or immigration.
PR Bond
A personal bond, meaning release on a promise to appear, usually with court conditions.

The official Coleman County jail visitation procedure says visitation resumed March 23, 2021 under a Texas Commission on Jail Standards approved plan. Prior inmates must wait 90 days after release before visiting. Handbags, cell phones, pictures, and containers are barred from the visitation area, and jail staff will not hold visitor property.

Coleman County Custody Channels

Different custody systems answer different questions. Coleman County NetData is the local jail roster for people held at the Law Enforcement Center. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate search is for people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility after state prison transfer. Texas VINELink adds custody notification access, but it should be used as a notification supplement, not as the only official record.

Coleman County Jail Facility

Coleman County has one facility in the project facility map: the Coleman County Law Enforcement Center. It is operated by the Coleman County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Les Cogdill and serves as the county jail for pre-trial defendants, misdemeanor commitments, warrant arrests, probation matters, local holds, and transfer situations. The county website does not publish a separate jail annex, city jail, work-release unit, regional jail, state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention center inside Coleman County.

Coleman County Inmate Contact

Coleman County's official jail pages did not publish a mail format, commissary vendor, deposit vendor, phone vendor, tablet program, remote video provider, or fee schedule. The safest records-based approach is to verify custody first, then call the Law Enforcement Center before sending mail, money, property, or attempting to schedule any remote service. Do not assume that a common Texas jail vendor applies to Coleman County unless the sheriff's office confirms it.
